Trends: Carrie Underwood Gets Ready For Live on Letterman

Tonight Carrie Underwood will line up a special performance at the Ed Sullivan Theatre for another great Live on Letterman show.

With Blown Away ready to drop this week, it’ll be a sneak preview of a set that’ll soundtrack the summer. Trends take a look at how her past tracks are stacking up.

Underwood has had a hugely successful career to date, fighting the obscurity that’s plagued some American Idol winners and becoming a respected country-pop star in her own right.

Since 2005 she’s picked up 11,760,749 plays from 720,738 listeners, very high figures for any country musician, and second only to the likes of Taylor Swift when it comes to country/pop crossover success.

Since January she’s started to see her weekly listeners climb too.

The release of “Good Girl” back in February pushed her listener count gently up, and rather than fall away – as happens to most pop singers – they’ve stabilised in the months since.

Listeners have tuned to back-catalogue hits like “Cowboy Casanova” since then, and to her most-played track so far; “Before He Cheats” has been played 1,235,868 times since its release by listeners around the world.
