Irish Music Phenomenon Celtic Thunder Drop New CD/DVD “Voyage”

Recently hailed as one of Billboard’s “Top Music Artists” after surpassing sales of over one million combined units, Irish music icons [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Celtic Thunder[/lastfm] are back in the spotlight once again, bringing fans not only a brand new studio album called Voyage, but also an exclusive DVD featuring the group in concert; making for a great St. Patty’s Day gift for anyone this year.

Since their last studio effort, a lot has happened in [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Celtic Thunder[/lastfm] world. Particularly, “Thunder Heads” worldwide have been very anxious to hear how the band has changed as a result of their recent lineup change. While Voyage is certainly a departure of sorts from the bands last album due to the addition of new members [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Emmet Cahil[/lastfm] and 13 year old [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Daniel Furlong[/lastfm], the group manages to retain the essence helped them win the award for Top World Album of 2011 for their last disc, Heritage.

Voyage follows in the footsteps of Heritage, featuring songs ranging from both soloist to ensemble focuses. The album is particularly highlighted by a few key tracks like the emotional number Maid Of Culmore. The orchestral sounds and dueling vocals that drive Maid Of Culmore are found throughout the album and really gives you a sense of the diversity that the group sought in recording Voyage. [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Celtic Thunder[/lastfm] also seem to have a lot of fun thinking outside the box on Voyage as they even included an impeccable cover of the classic [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Harry Chapin[/lastfm] song Cat’s In The Cradle, providing a new twist on an old classic.
