[pullquote quote="I have always loved live performance for the joy and immediacy it brings. The fact that it can now be shared in an intimate and communal way in locations around the nation is more than thrilling." credit="Yo-Yo Ma"]Longtime icons [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Yo-Yo Ma[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Chris Thile[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Edgar Meyer[/lastfm] & [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Stuart Duncan[/lastfm] are ready to rock theaters across the nation with songs from The Goat Rodeo Sessions, their acclaimed 2011 collaborative effort named as a reference to the unusual and challenging aspects of blending the classical and bluegrass genres.
For a project so ambitious, The Goat Rodeo Sessions success on such a large scale was expected because of the cast involved, but there was sure to be some uncertainty because of such a challenge in the hearts of the people involved as well as fans. However, all that is behind them now as the record has proved to be a great success in the eyes of fans and music critics alike who have dubbed the collaboration as “genre-proof”. It’s not often that all of the incredible elements executed on the record are graced with so many different styles that blend so flawlessly together, and its success has shown that anything is possible as well as the fact that art can be even more beautiful than you imagined when the right people with the right mindset are present.
