Punk Goes Pop A Fourth Time, New Installment Is Out Now

After almost a full decade since the release of the first Punk Goes Pop compilation record in 2002, on November 21st, Fearless Records are bringing fans another installment in the popular series, aptly titled Punk Goes Pop, Vol. 4

Popular rock bands covering songs in genres outside of their own has always been a fascinating aspect of music for as long as many of us can remember; especially since the concept was brought to the mainstream eleven years ago with the release of Punk Goes Metal - the first compilation installment in the Punk Goes… series.

Since the release of the Punk Goes Metal compilation, the series has branched off and evolved into various other highly successful brands centered around the same concept of artists covering songs outside of their genre. Fueled by the success of the series, coupled with its ever-growing fanbase, the Punk Goes… compilation records have gone on to sell over 650,000 albums and 3 million singles to date, so it comes as no surprise that Fearless are still pushing the project forward.

The newest PGP release has the potential to be the franchises greatest achievement yet. It seems like Fearless has the song and artist selection down to a science, and are getting better at that science with each release. PGP4 is no exception and once again features some of the hottest pop songs in music today being performed by various metalcore, post-hardcore and electronicore artists, making for a truly unique rock experience.

The latest spin on PGP is, as usual, very relevant to today’s pop scene – featuring renditions of songs originally by [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Chris Brown[/lastfm] (Yeah 3X), [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Eminem[/lastfm] feat. [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Rihanna[/lastfm] (Love The Way You Lie), [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Ke$ha[/lastfm] (We R Who We R), [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Taylor Swift[/lastfm] (You Belong With Me), [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Adele[/lastfm] (Rolling In The Deep), [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Britney Spears[/lastfm] (Till The World Ends), [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Bruno Mars[/lastfm] (Just The Way You Are), [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Kanye West[/lastfm] (Runaway), [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Cee Lo Green[/lastfm] (F**k You), [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Nicki Minaj[/lastfm] (Super Bass), [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Wiz Khalifa[/lastfm] (Roll Up), [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Mumford & Sons[/lastfm] (Little Lion Man), and [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Katy Perry[/lastfm] (Last Friday Night).
