[lastfm]Rival Sons[/lastfm] new album Pressure and Time is undoubtedly one of the best rock albums of the summer. Songwriter Jay Buchanan and the band have a unique, gritty rock sound that’s rare and refreshing. The band has who have often been compared to legends like [lastfm]Led Zeppelin[/lastfm], [lastfm]Black Crowes[/lastfm], and [lastfm]Them Crooked Vultures[/lastfm] is creating a large following with their amazing blend of rock n roll and high energy. Having opened for AC/DC, Kid Rock, and Alice Cooper, Rival Sons hope for a time when they can one day headline a major tour, and now seems as good of a time as any.
Pressure and Time shows off the band’s talent as musicians and vocalist that separate them from their competition. The album kicks off with “All over the Road,” a song filled with fuzzed-out guitars and heavy drums, setting the tempo and indicating that this is a ROCK record. Their title track and current single, “Pressure and Time” has a solid beat with a killer bass line, blues-rock guitar, and an addictiveness to it that immediately grabs your attention. Other great songs on the album include “Get Mine”, “White Noise”, and “Burn Down Los Angeles.”
