It’s that time of year again. The spring rains recede and the sun begins to shine on upstate New York and the entire Northeast. Along with the blessed change in weather comes another yearly tradition: the Mountain Jam festival at beautiful Hunter Mountain in the Catskills. Now in its seventh year, the festival, hosted by [lastfm]Warren Haynes[/lastfm] of [lastfm]Gov’t Mule[/lastfm] and the new [lastfm]Warren Haynes Band[/lastfm], has expanded to include nighttime music on Thursday night (June 2nd) with NYC favorites [lastfm]Soulive[/lastfm] holding down the evening with a set of [lastfm]Beatles[/lastfm] tunes (see their excellent 2010 release Rubber Soulive for a reference point). [lastfm]My Morning Jacket[/lastfm] is offering fans in the New York City area a quick & easy way to get to their Sunday headlining set at Mountain Jam. The “Circuital Bus Trip” will leave NYC on Sunday morning around 10am and trek straight up to Hunter to spend the day enjoying the music. Sunday’s performers include [lastfm]Grace Potter and the Nocturnals[/lastfm], [lastfm]Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros[/lastfm], [lastfm]Dawes[/lastfm] and [lastfm]Civil Twilight[/lastfm]. [lastfm]My Morning Jacket[/lastfm] take the stage at 7:30pm to close out the weekend. The bus will return to NYC immediately following the end of the music.
